Update

Whoops! Just realised that I've neglected this little space a bit. :s

Anyway, here's just a little update of what I've been up to...

Since last week was Easter/ Mid-Session break, I did what every student would normally do.. TAKE A BREAK AND RELAX! Haha. Actually I also had plans to do some studying/ catch up on readings, but that obviously failed. Pretty much started doing and completing my assignment/ homework on Saturday (2 days before going back to uni.) Sigh.. The power of procrastination. haha

So, last Tuesday I made my way up to Blue Mountains with a couple of friends. I stayed for a night and I must say I really enjoyed myself. Loved every part of it except the weather though. It was raining the whole day on Tuesday. Super cold and foggy. Spent most of my time indoors (though it's not really a complain). haha. I'm not an outdoor person, so bushwalking and all that isn't really my thing. I was pretty happy to skip that activity. :p We left on Wednesday (mid-day) and fortunately the weather cleared up. A couple of us made our way to Megalong Valley for brunch. I had the BEST steak pie there! Super yummy!
Are you drooling already? :p

Apart from Blue Mountains, I spent my holidays watching The Hills. I know.. Don't judge me. haha

Saturday came and it was time for brunch with my good old foundation friends! Had super yummy scones and tea for brunch at The Rocks. I can't remember the name of this cosy place (shall find out soon) but I'll defo pay a visit again.
Rachel and I

How cute are these teapot warmers?

Random deco which gives this place character.

Love the fairy lights.

Assortment of plain, maple, raisin and cheese scones

And this brings us to today. Passed up a Finance assignment and did a class test. *runs victory lap* Now let's just hope I did well. haha

Got home and I saw this package for me. Another Bowerhaus item :p

I say... Hello Disco Shiny Balls.

One item off my wish list. hehe

Such a good day! I'm feeling so happy! :))

Where to eat?!

Does this question always bug you?
"Where do you want to eat?"
Usual response/ reply..
"I don't know. Anywhere."

My brother recently celebrated his 23rd. So a couple of days before his birthday I asked him where did he want to have his birthday dinner. This was because I had to make reservations and what nots. So, I had to ask him the question above. And as usual, I got the expected answer. Sigh.

Thank God for eatability.com. This website is like a food review forum. Just refine your search to the area you want to dine at, and what cuisine you want and you'll get a number of different restaurants popping up. Read the reviews, look at the average score and take your pick.

I asked my brother to do just that, and we (with the cousins) ended up at WaQu in Crows Nest.

Sorry for not having pictures of the interior WaQu. The lightings were pretty dim and I only had my ipod touch camera with me. So the pics turned out pretty crappy. But just so you know, the interior design isn't very artsy fartsy. It's on the minimalist side of things, but very classy.

Nonetheless, I got pictures of my food. hehe
Basil sorbet with kara-age prawns and yuzu yoghurt
Chilled corn soup with prawn consomme jelly
Sashimi 3 way
WaQu Aquarium
Wagyu beef
Dessert. Forgot the name. But...
It was something with ice cream and rosehip soup
Strawberry cheese birthday cake!

I really enjoyed my meal and WaQu. I bet everyone else did. The service was pretty good too. (: Definitely a place to go again if you ask me.

Brunch at Bills!

Hey there lovelies!
I hope the week has been treating you good. I for one was and still is on busybee mode. But so far, all is still good! Hope it's the same on your end.

This is probably stale news. haha But I'll still share it here on my blog. After months and months of saying "I want to go to Bills for brunch!!!" I finally made it there last Friday with a very good friend. Made my way to Woollahra, got lost on the way (so embarassing! I've no sense of direction) and then finally got food in front of me!

Bills is MY FAVOURITE brunch spot now. I LOVE their ricotta hotcakes! Super yumm! And not to mention, my rosehip and mint punch was also very refreshing.

Will be heading back sometime soon to try other things on their menu. :))

For now, I leave you pictures. haha

If you're ever in Sydney, do pop by Bills. One word. Amazing. (:

Thank God it's Thursday!

Pheww.. Thank God it's Thursday! This has been the longest and most hectic week I've ever experienced in a veryy long time. It's only the first week of uni and I've been running around everywhere like a headless chicken.

I feel so all over the place having to get all my textbooks, attend all my lectures, attend meetings, organize events, make sure I start on my tutorial work and try to 'study' in between all that craziness. Woww! I'm actually still a lil bit overwhelmed.

1 day away from Friday! Which means no uni for me tomorrow. Long weekend! yayy!! I would definitely try to use and plan my time properly. Need to clear up my work!
................

Anyway... I wanted to do a post about the Five Things which made me happy the last week. So here goes..
This was my entry for a colouring contest Sereni & Shentel had for their fans. No, I didn't win. The other entries were too good. haha But it was all good fun! I really enjoyed colouring mine. It was therapeutic.

Banana Toffee cupcake from Sparkles Cupcakery! This is superrrr yummy I kid you not! If you're ever in Sydney, pop by Sparkles at Surry Hills or get your fix at David Jones food hall. In my opinion, Sparkles beats Cupcake Bakery or Cupcake on Pitt anytime. Try it!!!

Minz Rapunzel Stone Bangle. Lovin' the packaging and of course my bangle!! It's so versatile I can wear it alone or with other bangles/ cuffs.

English Breakfast Tea or any tea! I have no idea why, but not having tea in the morning makes me feel somewhat uneasy. Like something's missing. haha Also, having a glass of camomile tea in the evenings help me relax :))

Orange Chocolate Sticks. I just found them in my pantry at home. I think the brother bought them. Apparently, they can be found in Aldi. Perfect fit for my handbag. Quick snack when I'm on the go. But super unhealthy. So I've refrained myself from carrying this around. Smart thing to do! haha

Wow I see that 3/ 5 items are food. Eeks I'm in a lil bit of trouble here. haha

Ok, time to sleep!
Goodnight everyone!

Five Things

I LOVE LOVE LOVE cherries! These were from a cherry farm in NZ. On the way down from Queenstown. I can't remember the name of the place. It was actually quite embarrassing. Ahem.. 'Cos we were trespassing someone's farm/ property and we didn't know it! Oops! Honest mistake.

ANG PAU-S or better known as red packets! What's not to love about having an elder passing you a red envelope with some cash in it for the new year ;) It's the Chinese tradition. Anyone married would be giving away these 'red packets' to those who are younger/ not married. Every child's favourite part of Chinese New Year if you ask me. The 'red packets' above are customised with my family name on it (in chinese). My mom managed to get these when we were in Hong Kong last year. Although not red (it's a gold coloured packet actually), it's still a very good colour for the new year as gold symbolises wealth and good luck. Yeap, pass a chinese anything in red or gold and they'll love you.

These are called NGA KU. Basically they're just potato chips. But somehow, they taste a lil bit different. Very yummy if you ask me! :p And they're only usually available for sale during Chinese New Year. Unless, you know how to make them yourselves. haha

One of the best Chai Latte's I've tasted. This was from Fiordland Pizzeria in Te Anau, NZ. I'm not hard to please when it comes to Chai Latte. But this was pretty smooth and the aroma was just... (can't explain..haha). And compared to the one I drank at the airport (horrible!!), this was one of the best! But then again, everything tastes better when you're on a holiday.

Ok, this is silly. But Gossip Girl! What better way to sit back and relax and enjoy yet another episode of Gossip Girl. Just observe the clothes, Chase Crawford, the clothes, the clothes and the clothes. haha :p

............................................................................................................

I forgot to write a Valentine's Day entry yesterday. My day was sooooo packed and at the end of it I was too tired to do anything else but to lie down flat on the bed.

Here's my attempt at a heart-shaped cake. Vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. I tried to make the frosting look like flowers :p

I had a good Vday knowing I was loved. Not just on Vday, but every other day of the year! :D
<3

Hope all of you had a good V'day!

Girls, Shops and Food

I love the weekends. Just utter bliss 'cos I have all the time in the whole to do what I want, and when I want to do it. So today, I decided to have a girly day out with Rachel.

Having to meet her at 12 noon means having to have my alarm clock ON. Eee I hate the sound of my alarm already. See... The things I do for my friends. hehe :p

So I made sure I woke up early enough to dress up and have a cup of tea before venturing into the city. We spent so much time at the perfume section at the departmental store. "So much time" is actually an understatement! This girl is crazy you see... She tries nearly every perfume we pass. Well, I've to say I'm also a bit guilty. Just a tad bit.

I was a bit tempted to get the Chanel No. 5 actually... My point of "shopping" today was to look for a liquid eyeliner! So I walked away from the Chanel counter. Thank God my brains got the better of me :)) *yayy!!*

I asked this girlfriend of mine if she could recommend anything. 'Cos this lady here has experimented with so many brands already! It's absurb! haha.

So I landed myself with this...
Dior Precision Eyeliner

I would personally recommend you to get this (if you're looking for a liquid eyeliner). It's super easy to use! The brush at the end is pretty fine and pointed which makes it so easy to control. This is coming from a person who can't use an eyeliner properly to save her life!

Go get it! :D

Anyway, after walking like forever with only one purchase, I was beyond hungry and we landed ourselves at Jet's Cafe. My dieting regime was so far off my mind I totally forgot about it. More of conveniently forgot about it actually :p hehe. And so I did the unthinkable... Ordered a Jet Chicken Sandwich and a Chocolate Milkshake!

Yes... Diet and Milkshake isn't supposed to be together! I smacked myself already!!! But it was yummy though :p Rachel had to make me feel bad by just ordering a hot white chocolate! >(

Me: Don't you want something to eat?
Her: Umm.. Nope.. Diet la.. So fat already now.
Me: *rolls eyes*

(Sorry no pics of ourselves and our food.)

Just to console myself.. I walked A LOT today! Seriously my legs hurt now. Walking counts as exercise too right??

I look forward to next weekend, a bit of a break.. Then it's back to uni again. Wow the cycle of life. haha.

Have a good weekend lovelies!

The View and Food

What did I see?
Trees, snow capped mountains, lakes (so many of them), goats, cows, sheep.

Where was I?
New Zealand.

T'was my first time in South Island. Nice place with magnificent scenery, but I'll probably be back only when I'm 70. haha. If you're an adrenaline junkie, if you love nature walks/ trekking, basically any outdoor activity, NZ would be the place for you to visit.

I'm more of the city holidaymaker :p Bring me anywhere with tall buildings, shops, good food and everything would be good. teehee

But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed NZ very much. Had some pretty awesome meals there. (:

My favourite place in South Island would be Queenstown. It's home to extreme sports. Everyone Nearly everyone went bungee jumping and paragliding. Me? Haha I'm too chicken for such activities. My heart can't take it. *runs and hide*
Bungee jumping at the Kawarau River
If you happen to be in Queenstown, I'll recommend you to take the Skyline. By spending just NZ$25, you'll be able to take a ride on a gondola to the top of the mountain. Here, you'll be able to get a panoramic view of Queenstown. Breathtaking view I assure you. (:

Some shots I managed to snap.
On the gondola
With Aunty No. 3
When it comes to dining in Queenstown, you'll be spoilt for choice. There are so many restaurants here you'll never go hungry. haha.

I would recommend...
It's a MUST try when you're in Queenstown. It's very popular and the queue is never-ending. I had to wait for half an hour for my burger -.- BUT, it was worth the wait. I had the basic Ferg Burger. The beef, tomatoes, lettuce and bread were soooo fresh. It was absolutely yummy! Its actually a pretty big serving. So I shared the burger with my mom. Even with half that burger, I was stuffed.

MyThai.

My family were craving for some Thai food. So we landed ourselves here. I had my usual Pad Thai. I think it was one of the best dished on their menu. I really loved the deco in this restaurant too. I thought the hanging umbrellas were really pretty. And if you're lucky enough to get a table by the window, you'll be able to enjoy a really great view, overlooking mountains and the waterfront.

We were dining here on our last night in Queesntown. This fine dining restaurant is at Steamer Wharf right on the waterfront. I had the Northland Snapper. A very simple dish, but every element on this dish was perfect. (: I was a happy diner :p As for dessert, we shared the Chef's dessert platter. Ahem... Actually I finished the majority of it :p I've a sweet tooth.
On the platter were strawberry shortcake, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, coffee sorbet and a white chocolate thing which I can't remember.. Whoops :p My favourite was this strawberry shortcake. Super yumms! :D

Will update more. But I should really stop here. This post is getting too long. Congrats for reading up till here :p

Have a great day! (:
