I REALLY like the Cityscape Cuff... BUT (there's always a but..) I don't think it'll be suitable for work, aye? People will think I'm dressing up for a casual-do or party. The Wide Hexagon Cuff looks more 'decent' for formal meetings don't cha think? haha

But, I think the White Shell Necklace will go really well with a nice work blouse ;)

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

(Although I think I'm a day late...It's supposed to be Thursday right?? hehe)

Well, can't blame me. Thanksgiving isn't a big holiday/ celebration in Kuala Lumpur or in Sydney. So, I don't really keep track of it. BUT, I actually do believe that Thanksgiving shouldn't be a single day in a year. Everyday should be Thanksgiving. I mean... Being able to wake up, to carry out your normal routine is a blessing isn't it? We should already be thankful for being alive, well and kickin'!

People in the US usually have Thanksgiving dinner with their family. With roast turkey and loadsa other food. That's why some call it the Turkey Day. LoL. 

Members of the family would share at least one thing they're grateful for. As for me, I'm thankful for so many things! (That's great isn't it?) But to list it all down would definitely take AGESSS! So, here are my top 5:

1. I'm thankful for the person who loves me (: 

2. I'm thankful for a GREAT family and awesome friends who stick by me.

3. I'm thankful that I enrolled into university this year and managed to complete my first year studies. Tertiary education has become a necessity. But bare in mind, your parents don't owe you. They might have to make some sacrifices to put you through university. 

4. I'm thankful that I'm never lacking.

5. I'm thankful that I get to strike items off my wishlist this year. hehe. Make your own WishList! From my experience, they work! haha

Since it's still Thursday (in the US)...

Five Things

Five Things that keep me occupied:

1. A good book

Currently reading: Shopaholic Abroad. 

I'm reading it AGAIN. Why? 'Cos that's the only book which makes sense to me in the house. The brother has other books which are way too "deep" for me (I think) or I'm just NOT interested. haha. I want my Msian home library. Take. Me. Home. :(((((

2. Magazines/ Blogs

Magazines: Frankie and InStyle. Why? 'Cos I'm getting ideas to decorate my room. They call it drawing visual inspiration. Seriously... I'm not trying to sound shallow here.  

Blogs: Cupcakes and Cashmere. Why? I find many cool baking recipes from this blog. And Emily (writer) is just so creative when it comes to refurnishing her apartment!

3. FastPass TV

Currently watching: Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Modern Family, Glee. Just because there's nothing else to watch, I'm starting to follow 90210. Big Bang Theory will join the list too. (I know I know... Streaming is illegal. But then, the TV is not as up-to-date!)

4. Cupcakes

What? Vanilla cupcakes with pink icing. yummm.. My favourite. And they look pretty too. Some ask "Why don't you just buy them?" Umm...My answer would be 'cause you don't get the satisfaction of enjoying your own baking. Plus, you don't get other people's compliments. hehe

5. Blackberry

My access to BBM, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc.

First Day

Yes, the above would be something I would wear for the first day at work. Actually I've been thinking hard on what I can put together for My first day. I certainly don't want to go into the office in black&white. I know I know. Black&White is proper and smart. Some people say it's sexy too (I quote Shien). But isn't a black skirt/ pants and a white blouse/ shirt a lil boring you think?

Don't get me wrong. I don't wanna be rocking up on the first day in a shocking pink dress either. No one will take me seriously right? haha. But I think this ensemble above looks pretty good. The details of the embellished top certainly makes the cut. The tailored blazer on the other hand, brings about structure to the outfit and this projects the kind of seriousness we need to display at work.

If only I had these items in my closet. haha

I haven't logged into Polyvore for a couple of months now. So while waiting for my video to load, I thought of creating another set. Since the weather today's pretty gloomy, I thought of creating a look which brings forth the relaxed vibe.

This whole set features all my favourite pieces. From the J Brand jeans to the CCSkye leather wrap. I also love how the Philip Lim jersey looks so comfortable and airy. With the CCSkye statement necklace, that plain, simple tee is glammed up instantly.

Wouldn't mind this wardrobe at all, with the earthly tone. haha

Holidays and such

Today's the 3rd day of post-exam bliss. Yes, it feels good that exams/ assignments/ uni work is off my shoulders. As a student with these things bugging you 24/ 7, you feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. All the uni students out there will definitely agree with me, no?

So, on Tuesday (post-exam day 1), I went out to Bondi with a couple of friends for brunch. Nothing beats poached eggs with salmon, a glass of cold, freshly squeezed orange juice, good company, Bondi beach and awesome weather. We were digging it in at Bondi Trattoria. 

Summer holidays are here. Most are going home for hols, some would be working/ interning, while others are just done with university life and getting ready for the real world. 

2010 uni has been pretty good to me. Many ups and downs, but at the same time, many friendships were built, and many were also made stronger. Friendships back home are also as strong as ever, which is a pretty awesome thing! 

A conversation with a friend actually got me thinking about what I actually blog about. I think from now on, my blog would be a happy place. I've come to realize that I shouldn't blog about anything too personal here (I don't usually do that anyway). A line should be drawn I supposed. 

This blog will feature things colourful, fancy and pretty. Afterall, its called Of Colours and Fancy Things!

Wait for more updates. My blog shouldn't be dead. (:

When We LOVE

I wish everything was ok, normal, perfect, happy. 

Isn't that what everyone wants in life? 

But reality is, life is not a bed of roses. 

Yes, I've heard that so many times already!

I was just talking to a friend yesterday, and I complained "I'm just 19. Why do I have so many problems?? I never knew what SAD felt like. Until now." 

I know..I always use this word "Oh...I'm so sad now I'm stuck at home.." or "It's so friggin sad that my exams end the latest amongst all my other friends" or "I'm so sad my Dad didn't allow me to get that" or...Ok, you get my point.

But I've tasted the true meaning of SAD now. This emotion. This feeling. 

It definitely hurts. 

My friend said this in response... 

"Cos you chose to love. When you love, there'll always be problems"

So true.

But despite all that, I still choose to love. 

I don't know if I'm making any sense to you. But heck, my blog is my place to vent out my feelings (:

Hot Saturday!

It's been so HOT the past 2 days. I thought it's spring. Feels like summer already helloooo.. But I must say, I definitely prefer the hot weather as compared to cold winter days. *shivers*

I can't really get my head around studying too 'cos it's just too hot. It's unbearable sometimes..And more often than not, the 'hot-ness' makes me feel sleepy. haha

So in between studying/ trying to concentrate, I was goofing around with my webcam. I mean, better be making funny faces, than visiting my online shopping websites right? :D haha. I've found a cure for my weakness!

Sorry for the crazy- hair look. This is basically the exam-mode-studying look.

Did I mention, I love Peter Alexander? I can now walk outta the house in my PJs. haha

Thank God it's Friday!

It was so good to get outta the house after so many days! I kid you not, spending 4 days at home, and not stepping out feels B.A.D. 

It somehow feels so nice to be out again. And this time, I took some effort to put on something nice. Not dress up. But not t-shirt and jeans kindda look. haha. And I also got the chance to put on some 4 inchers. :P Being tall has a very nice feeling. I was towering above so many other people. hehe 

Not a very wise thing to do though when you're out shopping actually. haha

Untitled

4 days away from my final paper. Most of my friends are done or almost done for the year. By 'almost' I mean they're done tomorrow. 

Sigh. I needa keep my focus! 4 more days Tiffany, you can do it!

I've been feelin' superrrr restless. I know I've to keep doing (QA) work to make sure I remember all that I need to know for the exam.

Plus, I think I'm feeling very restless 'cos I've been spending ALL my time at home since Sunday. WOW!

Maybe I should go out for a lunch break tomorrow. Where can I go? Hmmm...

But for now, I've to keep my discipline. Sleep early. Wake up early. And perhaps, load up on those vitamin Cs. I feel like flu is creeping in slowly. :S

So Sweet...

I noticed that I've been updated my blog for the past few days on a daily basis. woahhhh... is the blogging mojo back???

Hmm... Maybe stress makes me wanna pen down my thoughts more often and I've got loads of random things to talk about.haha As some of you know, I kindda blog surf a lot. Not a-lot as in a-lot. But when I'm free, I blog surf or when someone's blog has a fancy name, it'll defo make me wanna check it out. haha

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

That was what I baked this afternoon. :D

Today has been pretty productive. I did so many things today, but not all things study related. haha. I have no idea why I was having an insomnia last night. Believe it or not, I was still awake at 4 am. :O I went to bed at 12-ish 1 and I was just tossing and turning, thinking about things for 3 hours! I thought most about the 3 papers that I just did. :S 

Yes, I'm afraid I kid you not. I have no idea why...

I must say... I did put much more effort into this semester. My goals were higher and I actually made sure I did all I could to achieve them during the semester, i.e work super hard for tutorial tests (which happens to be every 2 weeks throughout the semester-.-), made sure I did all the tutorial work and I understood what I did, and of course I was particular in making sure my assignments were kickass material before submitting them. 

But somehow, I feel rather sick thinking about my final grades :S

Everyone tells me that if I've done my part, that's all that I can do. I've to leave the rest to God. Hmm... Guess I need more Faith. (: I've to lean on Him.

I'm getting sidetracked here.. haha

Anywayyyy, I slept at 4-ish woke up at 10 am. Not. Enough. Sleep. 

Surprisingly, I didn't feel half dead. I made a target to go through 3 chapters of QA work. And boy, after I finished those 3 chapters, I was super restless. No more work could be done. 

So after lunch, I decided to bake these...

Fresh outta the oven

Chewy cookies. I like. 

I actually tried a new recipe. Haven't done this before. And the measurements were different. Instead of telling me how many cups of flour I needed, it was 300 grams of flour. And I had to do the conversions -.-

I needed something like 55 grams of cocoa, 3 grams of salt (who measures 3g???), 2 grams of baking soda (2 g??? whaaat????). So I decided to act smart. I used my agak-agak (estimation) skills. haha

Them cookies didn't turn out so bad actually. But they looked rather dull and sad.

Perhaps some colourful royal icing would brighten them up a 'lil. Possibly more life would be seen with some dashing colours!

Oh well, pretty cookies after exams! (:

Tomorrow has to be a productive studying day. And I'm gonna make sure I sleep early tonight.

Iced Biscuits!

I have no idea why I'm itching to bake some iced biscuits. I think it came from reading about them on Cupcakes and Cashmere while I was blog surfin'. Emily makes pretty sugar biscuits I must say! (:

I was searching for EASY sugar/ iced biscuit recipes on the net. Found a couple of easy ones, but I must say, making 'em biscuits is time consuming. Maybe not time consuming when I'm free... But defo feels like it takes too much time when I have my last paper to prepare for.

I don't have a clue why all sorts of 'cool' ideas come to me when I'm friggin' busy/ stressed out. Hmm...so if iced biscuits project turn out well, I might be able to do a lil' something something with them. Oh well, we'll see.

I actually got as far as purchasing this book today. Got it online!

Of Bangles and Cuffs

I have no idea why I'm going on an accessories craze at the moment. I find it weird. For the past few days, I've been saying NO to clothes, and YES to jewellery. 

Am I showing signs of ageing or something? Wait... Older people like jewellery better?? Umm...Actually, I don't think so. I think EVERYONE (girls) in general likes jewellery. Just the matter of how much. 

If you ask me, I have a couple of treasured pieces. But not many. Just 'cos I used to rather buy clothes with my money? haha. Times have changed aye? 

So, maybe it's time to expand the collection. hehe. BUT in moderation I suppose. (:

Anyway, I've been surfing the net in-between studying time. Time for a 'break'. You see, 'cos QA screws my mind upside down!

Look at this! I'm actually lovin' this! This would look so good with a white dress and a floppy hat. Does my description sound like a beach holiday outfit? But girls, if you have this, don't bring it to the sea! Haha

This would look good with a long-sleeved blouse (with sleeves folded up). Have your blouse tucked into your slacks, sky-high killer heels, and you'll be lookin FIERCE! haha. 

But of course, you can dress this cuff down too, with a LBD for parties/ soirees. 

Next on my list is...

Double wrap leather bracelet.

This piece would definitely bring some life to your casual put-together. Would be generally ideal for uni students like me who doesn't want to be too plain jane or too OTT.

This looks pretty cool too! I would say this is one of the most versatile pieces. You can pair it off with jeans or even a dress. 

Hope I gave some of you some gift ideas *ahem* hahaha. I kid.

But actually, if you're a big brother, and your 'lil sister happens to like these pieces, why not get her one of the above? Christmas is approaching and I'm sure her birthday is around the corner too! :P *BIG FAT HINT*

House of Harlow

I've been looking for a cuff for quite some time now. More of a statement kindda jewellery. 

So last Tuesday on the way home from my study session in uni, I stopped by the City. How convenient aye? Haha

Ran into Luxe which happens to be the only distributor for House of Harlow in Sydney. 

My eyes went wide open when I saw this...

The owner asked me to try it on.. Very smart this lady.. And I think she's Malaysian too.

And I knew I had to get this! :D

Nicole Richie has some other pretty amazing pieces too. 

I got my eyes on this too.. But due to budget constraints and promises made to someone special (: to spend wisely, I've decided that self control is key. haha

Her Summer 2010 Collection is very eye catching as well. She uses and plays with a lot of geometry. Brings fun and boldness together. But I must say, some of these pieces are too strong for me. 

Shopbob.com carries House of Harlow too. But the selection there isn't very big. It's good to go into a boutique to have a look at these pieces. Just because some bangles and cuffs come in different sizes. And you might actually want to see if it suits you.

I'm Nearly There

1 to go in 10 days.

I'm getting lazy.. This is bad 'cos Quantitative Analysis isn't my strongest subject. The last week of lectures were pretty blurry. Umm...I didn't know what the lecturer was talking about. Phail...

My face was just blank the whole time! Thank God it was the last week of lectures. I remember being clueless for Business Statistics (Sem 1) ever since week 5. It was scary! I haven't a clue what was going on till week10??? And mind you, that was cos I had to do the assignment! AND exams were around the corner!!

Panic mode ON at that time I kid you not!

Anyway, better do some studying now...
