Girls, Shops and Food

I love the weekends. Just utter bliss 'cos I have all the time in the whole to do what I want, and when I want to do it. So today, I decided to have a girly day out with Rachel.

Having to meet her at 12 noon means having to have my alarm clock ON. Eee I hate the sound of my alarm already. See... The things I do for my friends. hehe :p

So I made sure I woke up early enough to dress up and have a cup of tea before venturing into the city. We spent so much time at the perfume section at the departmental store. "So much time" is actually an understatement! This girl is crazy you see... She tries nearly every perfume we pass. Well, I've to say I'm also a bit guilty. Just a tad bit.

I was a bit tempted to get the Chanel No. 5 actually... My point of "shopping" today was to look for a liquid eyeliner! So I walked away from the Chanel counter. Thank God my brains got the better of me :)) *yayy!!*

I asked this girlfriend of mine if she could recommend anything. 'Cos this lady here has experimented with so many brands already! It's absurb! haha.

So I landed myself with this...
Dior Precision Eyeliner

I would personally recommend you to get this (if you're looking for a liquid eyeliner). It's super easy to use! The brush at the end is pretty fine and pointed which makes it so easy to control. This is coming from a person who can't use an eyeliner properly to save her life!

Go get it! :D

Anyway, after walking like forever with only one purchase, I was beyond hungry and we landed ourselves at Jet's Cafe. My dieting regime was so far off my mind I totally forgot about it. More of conveniently forgot about it actually :p hehe. And so I did the unthinkable... Ordered a Jet Chicken Sandwich and a Chocolate Milkshake!

Yes... Diet and Milkshake isn't supposed to be together! I smacked myself already!!! But it was yummy though :p Rachel had to make me feel bad by just ordering a hot white chocolate! >(

Me: Don't you want something to eat?
Her: Umm.. Nope.. Diet la.. So fat already now.
Me: *rolls eyes*

(Sorry no pics of ourselves and our food.)

Just to console myself.. I walked A LOT today! Seriously my legs hurt now. Walking counts as exercise too right??

I look forward to next weekend, a bit of a break.. Then it's back to uni again. Wow the cycle of life. haha.

Have a good weekend lovelies!

Salad Only!

After a very good holiday which included awesome food and desserts everyday, I've come back to reality. I've to shed those pounds I put on :S eeks! Something I really don't enjoy doing.

I've to go on a DIET now. Salad ONLY from now on.
Say hello to my dinner.

Lettuce, avocado, eggs, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, shrimp.
Very yumms actually. But go to the restaurant and you'll see this dish as a STARTER. Not a main. haha

Oh well.. We'll see how long this will last.
I suppose not too long. haha.. Cos I've been craving for a slice of chocolate mud cake. And the Chinese New Year cookies are all stocked up in my kitchen. Ahhh those pineapple tarts and whatnots... :p

Howww? A Malaysian like me would always say "How la to lose weight like that?? Howw??"
*smacks forehead*

But still... I'm determined to lose some weight before uni resumes. Don't want to hear comments like "Eh..You put on weight ah??" O.O The horror!

Ok enough blabbing. Sorry :p

The View and Food

What did I see?
Trees, snow capped mountains, lakes (so many of them), goats, cows, sheep.

Where was I?
New Zealand.

T'was my first time in South Island. Nice place with magnificent scenery, but I'll probably be back only when I'm 70. haha. If you're an adrenaline junkie, if you love nature walks/ trekking, basically any outdoor activity, NZ would be the place for you to visit.

I'm more of the city holidaymaker :p Bring me anywhere with tall buildings, shops, good food and everything would be good. teehee

But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed NZ very much. Had some pretty awesome meals there. (:

My favourite place in South Island would be Queenstown. It's home to extreme sports. Everyone Nearly everyone went bungee jumping and paragliding. Me? Haha I'm too chicken for such activities. My heart can't take it. *runs and hide*
Bungee jumping at the Kawarau River
If you happen to be in Queenstown, I'll recommend you to take the Skyline. By spending just NZ$25, you'll be able to take a ride on a gondola to the top of the mountain. Here, you'll be able to get a panoramic view of Queenstown. Breathtaking view I assure you. (:

Some shots I managed to snap.
On the gondola
With Aunty No. 3
When it comes to dining in Queenstown, you'll be spoilt for choice. There are so many restaurants here you'll never go hungry. haha.

I would recommend...
It's a MUST try when you're in Queenstown. It's very popular and the queue is never-ending. I had to wait for half an hour for my burger -.- BUT, it was worth the wait. I had the basic Ferg Burger. The beef, tomatoes, lettuce and bread were soooo fresh. It was absolutely yummy! Its actually a pretty big serving. So I shared the burger with my mom. Even with half that burger, I was stuffed.

MyThai.

My family were craving for some Thai food. So we landed ourselves here. I had my usual Pad Thai. I think it was one of the best dished on their menu. I really loved the deco in this restaurant too. I thought the hanging umbrellas were really pretty. And if you're lucky enough to get a table by the window, you'll be able to enjoy a really great view, overlooking mountains and the waterfront.

We were dining here on our last night in Queesntown. This fine dining restaurant is at Steamer Wharf right on the waterfront. I had the Northland Snapper. A very simple dish, but every element on this dish was perfect. (: I was a happy diner :p As for dessert, we shared the Chef's dessert platter. Ahem... Actually I finished the majority of it :p I've a sweet tooth.
On the platter were strawberry shortcake, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, coffee sorbet and a white chocolate thing which I can't remember.. Whoops :p My favourite was this strawberry shortcake. Super yumms! :D

Will update more. But I should really stop here. This post is getting too long. Congrats for reading up till here :p

Have a great day! (:

Back!

Here's a peek of where I've been...

Can you guess the location? haha. Really want to blog about what I've seen, ate, done, experienced, etc. But my body's not allowing to do so right now. Ever since I touched down last Thursday night, I've been out and about, running around, accompanying my aunt on shopping trips (believe me I'm not complaining :p) that my body has been so extremely exhausted. Topped with lack of sleep and my failure to keep myself hydrated, I've fallen sick! Arghhh..

Been down with fever, soar throat and really bad flu. My nose is like a running tap now :S

I promise to update as soon as possible! (:

Time to sit back/ lie down in front of the tv for my Australian Open fix. hehe.

On an unrelated note, I'm so happy my Minz Lauren Vintage Stone Pendant arrived today. Nothing DHL can't fix! :p Hmm..Now my flu doesn't feel so bad anymore ;) teehee

Have a great week ahead, dolls!

Rapunzel

I just started a tradition and I think it'll be here to stay! Every month (from now on), the brother will bring me out for a movie. hahaha. 1 movie a month won't hurt his pocket I'm sure. Don't worry, I'm not that demanding. :p

So we managed to kick start the tradition with Tangled! haha. The brother was pretty sceptical about a Disney movie. Mind you, this guy watches sci-fi or action or whatever else most of the time and thinks chic-flicks (my kindda shows) are a waste of time -.- So I had to convince him that Tangled was going to be good. I kept telling him, "My friends said it was awesome :D"  Yes, with that big smile on my face. And whenever I could, I'll keep saying "Let's watch Tangled (x3)". I annoyed the crap outta him! hahaha. When it comes to dealing with the brother, you just got to be persistent.

I'm not sure why it only got released in Australia today, but you've GOT TO WATCH IT! Watch it in 3D if possible. Tangled will not disappoint you. It's a perfect family show. But wait, all Disney shows are family-friendly aren't they? haha.

Umm..I don't think I should tell you guys so much here. 'Cos then it'll be a spoiler for some of you. Just think funny, happy with loads of singing and fairy-tale ending. haha. I'm sure every girl out there would enjoy this movie. Don't be afraid to bring your boyfriend, husband, brother, male friend to watch with you. 'Cos they'll love it too. :))

One thing I managed to take away from Rapunzel is that we should all have dreams. Dreams lead us to our goals. With a goal in mind, we'll then be determined to achieve what we want and succeed. Like Rapunzel, she had a dream to watch the lanterns. Initially, she was forbidden by her evil 'mother'. But as the story unfolds and as opportunities arises, her dream came true. :)) So don't be afraid to dream, my friends! You'll never know what's in store for you. I'm a big dreamer. :p haha But don't dream ONLY. Work towards that dream of yours. :)

I want to watch it again! Who wants to go with me?? haha.

Speaking of Rapunzel, this gem here has caught my eyes!
From the Rapunzel Collection by Adeline herself. Check it out on her website here

Hope everyone is doing well! The weekend is coming! Can't wait. haha

Tea and Shortbread

Since I'm on holiday, I have the luxury of sleeping in without my alarm clock buzzing in my face. Don't you guys just hate the alarm clock sometimes? haha I'm notorious for snoozing my alarm for no less than 5 times before I can pull myself out of bed :P It's such a bad habit 'cos I end up being late.

This is what I had for "breakfast". It'll be more appropriate if I call it brunch actually. haha

These are my all-time favourite. English breakfast tea and shortbread. (: Super yumms and a great way to start the day (especially when eaten in front of the tv)!

I actually made the shortbread myself. I got the recipe here on the Martha Steward website. It's actually pretty easy to make. You guys should definitely give it a go! (:

I should try clear up my room now.. I've been procrastinating for weeks already. Eeks! Definitely NOT good.

Hope everyone is well (:

1.1.11

Wow! I can't believe 2011 is here already! 2010 flew by a lil too quickly for me.
I can still remember ushering in 2010 with some of my closest friends on 31.12.2009. It's true when some people say "time flies".

I hit many bumps along the way in 2010. But all the lows taught me things I didn't know about myself (and others). I'm grateful that the year closed on a high note though (:

I'm really excited about 2011. A new year with new beginnings. But in slightly more than a month, I would no longer be a teen. Eeks! *cries*

I've got my new year's resolution all written down. Can't wait to achieve my goals! :D

Cheers to a blessed new year!
